Privacy Policy

MARIPA_E-SYNC ("we", "us", "the platform") is a bulk SMS service operated by Maripa Tech Agency, based in Kampala, Uganda. This policy explains what information we collect from you and the contacts you upload, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information

Name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) when you register directly.
Organization/workspace name and account type (individual or company).

Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google's identity service to create or match your account. We request only the minimum profile and email scopes needed for authentication — we do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, or any other Google service. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell or share it with any third party except as strictly necessary to operate the sign-in itself (i.e., verifying your identity with Google).

Data you upload or generate while using the platform

Contact lists you import or add (phone numbers, names, emails, and any custom fields you attach to a contact).
Message content, campaigns, and delivery/status records for SMS you send through the platform.
Wallet balance, top-ups, and transaction history for billing purposes.
API keys you generate, and audit/activity logs of actions taken on your account.

Automatically collected data

We log basic technical data for security and reliability — IP address, request timestamps, and error logs. We use browser local storage (not third-party cookies) to keep you signed in between visits.

2. How we use this information

To create and authenticate your account, including via Google Sign-In.
To deliver the SMS messages and campaigns you send through the platform.
To process wallet top-ups and calculate billing for messages sent.
To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
To detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
To improve the reliability and performance of the platform.

3. Who we share data with

We share the minimum data necessary with the following categories of third parties, solely to operate the service:

SMS delivery providers (e.g. Africa's Talking) — receive the recipient phone number, message content, and sender ID needed to deliver your messages.
Payment providers (e.g. Relworx, mobile money, and card processors) — receive the information needed to process a wallet top-up; we do not store your full payment card or mobile money PIN.
Email provider — used to send transactional emails such as password resets.
Google — used only to verify your identity if you choose Google Sign-In.

We do not sell your personal data or your contacts' data to anyone, for any purpose.

4. Data retention

We retain account and messaging data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with financial record-keeping obligations and resolve disputes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).

5. Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable Google Sign-In where convenient.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your account data by contacting us at info@maripatechagency.com. If you signed in with Google, you can also revoke MARIPA_E-SYNC's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

7. Children's privacy

MARIPA_E-SYNC is a business tool and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children under 18.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
